a half pound of breakfast blend

Tonight at Starbucks, we had a really attractive young man come in whom I was chatting with, and I managed to sell a half pound of coffee beans to him. My manager said she noticed us flirting, and I was really tempted to write my phone number on the coffee bag I gave him. I didn't, because I don't like to be forward with guys. Sometimes I am a little too forward, but I've never been that forward before. But after he left, I was really kicking myself for not doing so. I mean, why not live a little? I'd never see him again probably, so why not? What's the harm? But I'd much rather have a guy pursue me than me have to put myself out there like that.

Ladies? Fellas? What do you think? Should a girl help a guy out who might be interested in her? Write the phone number down, or not?

Then, after we locked the doors and were closing, something even stranger happened. The entire front of the store started shaking and the lights started flickering! It was so freaky! My manager and stared at each other, as I asked, "What the heck is going on?" It lasted for about 30 seconds, then stopped. Another partner was in the back, but he didn't notice any shaking. I told them I felt like there was a spaceship hovering overhead, like we were in an X-Files episode. My manager agreed.

What a night!

i'm so disillusioned right now with the whole guy-girl thing, i'm not sure i'm the best person to give any sort of advice... but i feel like writing your number down isn't being too forward. he still has to decide whether or not to call you and take the initiative there.

and how weird about the mini earthquake thing... you'll have to let us know if you figure out what that was

i'm thinking your guy might be an alien and he was using the coffee to fuel his spaceship. good thing you didn't give him your number or you might have been abducted.

but that's just a guess.

man, nothing that cool ever happens in sherley office.

not sure what i think about the whole girl being forward thing. i feel like dating stuff should be easy and fall into place. so, do we help make things fall into place? not sure. see you soooon, dearest.

Hm, again, iffy, but I probably wouldn't write my number down. He can very easily make visiting your Starbucks and seeing your sunny face a morning ritual. :o) Maybe if he comes in a few more times and seems shy but interested you could give him a little more help. I also agree with Cara, though, that theoretically it should just fall into place fairly easily.
